The name “The Nasty Boys” is derived from the Cincinnati Reds’ relief pitching trio of the same name. The trio consisted of Rob Dibble, Norm Charlton, and Randy Myers and all helped lead the Cincinnati Reds to the World Series title in 1990. During the World Series, “The Nasty Boys” combined for 8 2/3-innings of baseball with 0 earned runs on six hits in a four-game-sweep of the Oakland Athletics.
