After a busy week here on the site there was a break for the weekend to allow a collective gathering of breaths. We hope to have another solid week lined up for you. For tonight, I just have a few notes:
• I hope you took my advice and tuned in to the Preakness Stakes as Curlin and Street Sense took it to the wire, literally, in what will probably be the closest finish in Preakness Stakes’ history. On top of the exciting, unbelievable finish, the two horses finished very, very close to world-class horse Secretariat’s pace.
• The Cleveland Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs closed out their respective series and the Spurs went on to jump on the Utah Jazz early today with a 108-100. After the suspensions of Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw, it did not appear that the Phoenix Suns stood much of a chance, they gave it their all down the stretch but in the end were basically done in by certain decisions.
• Kevin Harvick won the Nextel All-Star Challenge last night. This, of course, is not news, the news is that Jeff Gordon did NOT win. One of the best races of the season, the Coca-Cola 600, is next weekend. Big preview to come.
• The Cincinnati Reds suck.
Bronson Arroyo takes to the hill tomorrow night against the Washington Nationals, and I hope to have a piece out by tomorrow afternoon on Arroyo with the Reds. Also, this week culminates with the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday and this race also happens to be my favorite race of the year so hopefully I will have some good stuff out on that for those interested. As always, thoughts to come as things develop…
