Now Or Never Friday

Posted by Matt on May 18, 2007

I usually don’t headline on a game or event that has yet to take place, but it is now or never for the Phoenix Suns in Game 6 of the series tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. With the series at 3-2 in favor of the Spurs but with the Suns back to full strength and coming off a near-miss in the 3-point loss on Wednesday, things are about to get interesting. It is a MUST WATCH tonight and in the words of “Good Ole’ J.R.” this one will be a “slobberknocker.”

Other must see TV this weekend:

  • The second-leg of the Triple Crown goes down at Pimlico Race Course at 5:00PM EST on Saturday as nine horses take to the track for the 132 running of the Preakness Stakes. I cannot promise a preview of the race like I did for the Kentucky Derby as I will be travelling this weekend, but truth be told, nobody should bet on my advice anyways…
  • NASCAR’s version of All-Star weekend takes place on Saturday as well as the Nextel Open at Lowe’s Motor Speedway fires up at 7:30PM with the Nextel All-Star Challenge following at 9:00PM, these races are short shootouts and are always exciting but Jeff Gordon owns three All-Start titles and has three wins already this season so you may not want to tune in, especially if you are like the rest of Western Civilization and you don’t like Jeff Gordon…
  • Interleague Play starts in the MLB this weekend, if you’re in to that, and most match-ups feature “rivalry games” right from the start. The Cincinnati Reds are back in action as Kyle Lohse is back on the hill for the 7:05PM EST first-pitch in Cleveland, Ohio against the Indians.
  • If necessary, Game 7 of the Spurs versus Sun series will be on Sunday at 3:30PM EST on ABC. If there is a Game 7, you’d be an idiot to miss it…

My thoughts on the Patrick Patterson decision will come later in the day and hopefully more solid stuff throughout the weekend. This week was a big week in terms of content so go back and check out all the good stuff you might have missed. More to come…
