The Thursday Update

Posted by Matt on May 17, 2007

“The Nasty Boys” will lead you to salvation!

…even I am getting tired of myself…on to the news and notes…

• The Cincinnati Reds lost, again, by a score of 3-2 in a heart-breaker for Bronson Arroyo (that guy cannot catch a break, more on him later in the day) and the Reds are now 3-11 in their last 14-games. They are beginning to be what you would call a “lost cause” already, which is rather depressing considering they only finished 3.5-games out of First Place in the National League Central Division last year to the eventual World Series Champions, the Saint Louis Cardinals.

• The Phoenix Suns lost by 3-points last night, 88-85, in front of a solid crowd in Arizona to the San Antonio Spurs. I am convinced Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw would have made up the difference of 3-points in this game, so the Player-of-the-Game award goes to David Stern for the San Antonio Spurs. I predicted a barn-burner and they did not disappoint, however, the series may be all but over as the Suns will have to steal one in San Antonio to force a Game 7. Don’t count this out as a very watchable series, though, as the last two games should be quite interesting.

• The MLB Owners have approved the sale of the Atlanta Braves to Liberty Media, Corp. I only hope that this means that EVERY SINGLE BRAVES’ GAME will NO LONGER appear on the TBS network. That is all.

Lots more content to come throughout the day, yet again, so stay tuned…
