The Friday Rundown

- The Los Angeles Kobes finally put together a solid performance to get a game back on the Phoenix Suns last night , however, the Suns still lead the series 2-1 and unless Bryant gets some help, now and in the future, 1-and-done in the playoffs will begin to be the norm for Los Angeles. In other action, the Utah Jazz also got a game back against the Rockets and the Detroit Pistons stretched the series lead to 3-0 on the Orlando Magic.
- In the apparent ‘no news is good news’ department, out-of-work pitcher Roger Clemens will reportedly make a decision on playing by the end of May, which means he is probably leaning towards coming back as he would have officially retired at this point if he had a feeling he would not return. I would like to see him in a Red Sox uniform one more time but my gut is with the Houston Astros; too close to home and Coby plays for their single-A affiliate the Lexington Legends.
- Michael Jordan’s son Jeffrey will allegedly walk-on to the University of Illinois to play basketball next school year. This is good news not for the fact that there is any chance Jeffrey will be 1/10th as good as his father, because he won’t be, but for the fact that ticket sales and television ratings will most certainly go up just to get a glimpse at his Airness.
- Here is a video of Minnesota Twin Torii Hunter getting popped in the mouth by a fastball as mentioned in yesterday’s article Torii Hunter’s Week Is Worse Than Yours, pretty rough.
Fairly slow news day on this last Friday of April. The Reds stink, but what’s new…I promise to have the Round 1 draft cheat sheet up before the 5 o’clock hour…
